Wow! Has anybody seen the new vessel sinks? It seems like a lot of new homes are being built with these installed. These are made out of many metals but copper sinks just give a greater antique look in the bathroom. And even if you prefer the below counter sinks, you can get those out of the new copper too. In some ways it appears that we are traveling backward in time and starting to use the olden times styles of everything. But it does give a good change for all of us.

Anyone interested in purchasing a laptop needs to do a lot of research. My sister recently purchased a Toshiba, yet when I saw her with it, I noticed that it did not have a web cam and she paid a lot more for hers than I did for mine. Everybody should have a webcam. It’s nice to use video calls with Yahoo messenger or Skype. When my Mother was in the hospital and not expected to live, I could not take my daughter and her children down there. But thanks to the webcam on my laptop, I was able to let her see them. This was something that was important for her. Make sure that you not only get a good price, but that you have enough memory and a large enough hard drive to not have to worry about running out of space. That will make your OE run slowly or not at all.

The House approved a 21% cut for Medicare payments to physicians, but thankfully that was thrown out and a 2% increase given instead. Doctors can refile old claims back to June 1, 2010. For a while rumors were being heard about doctors refusing to see patients with Medicare. That is very bad and totally makes having Medicare a waste. It’s bad enough that we have to pay for the doctor’s portion and buy a separate policy for prescriptions. I believe I pay about $150 for the part B (covers doctors) and part D (prescription plan).

Luckily for me, in 4 more years, psychiatric co-pays will go from 45% down to 20%. Hm, how much is that in 4 years? Medicare sends me paperwork indicating drugs that have been disapproved. I keep worrying that one of the 4 I take will soon be included in that list.

I couldn’t find a lot of changes but I am sure that there are a lot more. One of the things that does not make sense to me is having to duplicate a deductible. I believe a law was passed that stated if you had paid a yearly deductible to an insurance and then changed insurances, that the second insurance company could not make you repay the deductible to them. Yet this is what Medicare has done to me. Hmmm, interesting

With jobs having become so scarce with this depression, I can’t help but direct someone who is trying to decide what type of work to aim for at college to look toward the healthcare system. There are a great variety of jobs in that area including doctors, nurses, specialists in radiology, CAT scan, x-rays, ultrasounds, tissue lab specialists, and many more such as clerical workers and assistants of all kinds. With the baby boomers entering the age where health begins to plummet, more and more health care workers will be needed. Look at these healthcare job listings to see what I am speaking about. There are so many openings that a person will have their pick. And keep in mind that nurses are probably the biggest sought after employees. A nurse can pretty well pick where they will work as well as what hours they will work. Some of these go on to running nursing homes and other types of old age homes. Keep this in mind for your future, or for your second goal.

I would like to once again speak about a terrible disease called Mesothelioma. This disease is commonly caused by asbestos exposure and is deadly. What is even worse, is that the symptoms are not always indicative of this disease and it is very common that a Mesothelioma diagnosis is not even able to be made until it has reached such a stage that shows mesothelioma has greatly spread and has involved many other organs. As with all cancers, a spread to other organs or other body parts is almost impossible to cure, if not impossible. Once a cancer spreads to the lymph nodes, it begins to spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream. Please investigate this disease so that you will perhaps remember to speak of this with your doctor. It could save your life.

Glaucoma is not just one eye disease, but a group of eye conditions resulting in optic nerve damage, which causes loss of vision. Abnormally high pressure inside your eye (intraocular pressure) usually, but not always, causes this damage.

Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness. Sometimes called the silent thief of sight, glaucoma can damage your vision so gradually you may not notice any loss of vision until the disease is at an advanced stage. The most common type of glaucoma, primary open-angle glaucoma, has no noticeable signs or symptoms except gradual vision loss.

Early diagnosis and treatment can minimize or prevent optic nerve damage and limit glaucoma-related vision loss. It’s important to get your eyes examined regularly, and make sure your eye doctor measures your intraocular pressure.

This is from the Mayo clinic site and does give some information about this disease, however most people want to know more. What kind of symptoms are there; how do you know you have this disease, what can you expect afterwards, and is there any surgery or other cure?

Here are some symptoms:

Primary open-angle glaucoma signs and symptoms include:

Gradual loss of peripheral vision, usually in both eyes

Tunnel vision in the advanced stages

Acute angle-closure glaucoma signs and symptoms include:

Severe eye pain

Nausea and vomiting (accompanying the severe eye pain)

Sudden onset of visual disturbance, often in low light

Blurred vision

Halos around lights

Reddening of the eye

When to see a doctor

Don’t wait for noticeable eye problems. Primary open-angle glaucoma gives few warning signs or symptoms until permanent damage has already occurred. Regular eye exams are the key to detecting glaucoma early enough for successful preventive treatment.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends a comprehensive eye exam for all adults starting at age 40, and every three to five years after that if you don’t have any glaucoma risk factors. After age 60, you should be screened every year. If you are African-American or have other risk factors for glaucoma, your doctor likely will recommend periodic eye exams starting between ages 20 and 39, and every one to two years after age 40.

In addition, be aware that a severe headache or pain in your eye or eyebrow, nausea, blurred vision, or rainbow halos around lights may be the symptoms of an acute angle-closure glaucoma attack. If you experience two or more of these symptoms together, seek immediate care at an emergency room or an eye doctor’s (ophthalmologist’s) office right away.

This software allows a business to decide who will be allowed access. It also can be made available either through the office or the Internet, which will enable an employee to work from home, or while on the road. It also can be available for training via the product retailer. This is only one of many ways in which an easier software system can be utilized.

Have you ever had your medical insurance company force you into using a generic even though you wanted the name brand? The drugstores would have us believe that a generic and a name brand drug are the same. But although they may have the same ingredient, the fillers that they use are different. This does make a difference.

One such example is the drug phentramine. This is the generic for the drug Phentermine. Phentermine is used for obese patients and has good results. It is a prescribed medication. The other one is available over-the-counter and costs much less. Phentermine is said to be similar to an “upper”. It is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system and gives you the same feeling of satisfaction as, say, eating a chocolate bar. But it has some serious side effects that would make a whole lot of people really uncomfortable. Compare these two drugs for yourself. And keep in mind that a generic prescription is not always good as the original. As your pharmacist.

One of my sons had facial acne when he was a teenager. It wasn’t that bad but it was bad enough to make him feel uncomfortable around other kids. I finally took him to the doctor and was told that they did have something that would work, but it would get much worse before it got better. My son didn’t like that idea and neither did I. Some people’s skin is just so oily that they need to wash their faces several times throughout the day to rid themselves of it. But others swear by acne treatments and specifically look for particular areas. Many have acne trouble not only on their face but on their body as well. There is an acne body wash available to help with that problem. There are ones that you take orally and others that are applied topically. Which one works the best? I couldn’t tell you but I am sure if you looked around on the Internet that you would find a lot of recommendations for something that would work well.
